Pilot Information

Flying with ATCThing

Our controllers provide realistic ATC services for GeoFS. Here is what you need to know to make the most of controlled airspace.

What We Provide

ATCThing controllers operate using VATSIM-style procedures adapted for GeoFS. When a controller is active, you can expect:

Ground taxi instructions and pushback clearance
Takeoff and landing clearances from tower
IFR clearance delivery and flight plan routing
Approach sequencing and radar vectors
Traffic advisories and separation services
ATIS-style airport information

What We Expect from Pilots

To keep the experience realistic and enjoyable for everyone, we ask that pilots follow a few guidelines.

Monitor the Frequency

When flying in controlled airspace, tune into the appropriate frequency and listen for ATC instructions.

Follow Instructions

Comply with taxi, takeoff, landing, and approach clearances. Read back instructions to confirm understanding.

File a Flight Plan

For IFR flights, file your flight plan before departure. VFR pilots should still check in with local ATC.

Be Patient

Our controllers are trainees learning real ATC procedures. Please be respectful and patient during sessions.
